Chandni Chowk to China – Movie review

Even if we expect a no-brainer, this movie is a disappointment. A mindless movie can carry itself along if it is tumultuous enough and funny enough but CC2C isn’t. This is a slapstick comedy, but the jokes are stale. Worse, many scenes seem to stretch on endlessly and one wishes the director would get on with it. After the interval he does get on with it…but take away the fight scenes and the movie is nothing. While watching CT2C, I got this awful sense of déjà vu… about a hundred movies of the past seemed to fuse together…

A wide angle view of India 
Lol..This an overhyped movie and I had an intution that it was going to be dumb..Your movie reviews match my taste,but anyways i will watch it when avaliable 😉
For some reason,I don’t like Deepika..lol..don’t tell i am jealous,but i don’t like her attitude in interviews..

another overhyped movie….well the fact that deepika was chosen to be a chinese girl put me off in the first place so decided aint gonna watch it!
Well ya and they showed Deepika practicing the stunts .she doesn’t look all that good without makeup 🙂
I thought this one would be another “Typical Bollywood Masala Movie”. 😉
We don’t make good comedies anymore. These days we have films where you are asked to keep your brain home :)). Do we need brain to watch any genre?
Why do these people come up with tomfoolery in the name of comedy films? Akshay needs to stop before it’s too late and he ends up like Govinda.

after I saw Welcome..I decided AK is not for me..you know for a person like me who used to like Govinda’s movies even when they were illogical and meaningless…AK is too much

Rambler, luckily I have not seen “Welcome” but I have seen a serious movie of Akshay’s “Yeh hai dillagi” or something and he was not bad in it at all. Overall though he is not my type, Akshay I mean. 🙂
Dev, Me too spent time looking at her. She was cute.
Akshay had some good movies like Sabrina remake Yeh Dillagi, Hannibal remake Sanghursh and such but the problem is even when he is emoting, you can see his gums and expression looks the same in all scenes.

Wow, a 1.5 star rating! That must be a horrid movie. I did see some trailers and was intrigued by the plot.
Interestingly, i read this article about how the hollywood production company for this movie (forgot the name) is working super hard towards making sure that no pirated copies get made.
After reading the reviews, i doubt anybody is going to even want pirated copies!

Of course she is cute..Actually i was a great fan of her since OSM..But in BAHaseenon,she was dumb and worse that than new comer Minisha,it maybe that her character was so..Since then,I don’t look forward to her movies..Will watch this movie and maybe i will start liking her again 😉
I didn’t like her in Bachna hai haseeno either. That role itself was stupid. Unfortunately in this movie too she isn’t playing a very intelligent role. She just has to look good and do karate! – Nita.

But I observed such tendency when RGV made Aag too.
My friends watched that movie. Not to enjoy it, but to criticize it and to know how to criticize it they watched it, wasted their money and then discussed, wrote, fought alot to emphasize that how disgusting Ram Gopal Verma is.
Anyways for me, movies doesn’t make much sense except some of them, and incidentally, I always come to know about whether I would like a movie or not before deciding to watch it. But then I am no “first day first show” chick. So seldom I feel my money was lost in the darkness of a multiplex or theater.
I was always a first day first show kind but unfortunately hardly ever got to fulfill my desires in school and college because there was no time! Busy studying! 😦 Now I have the chance, specially as I get paid for it! 🙂 Life does improve. 🙂 – Nita.
Well the movie is a dumb one ……can’t believe its disribution right was taken by warner bros. hard enough to resist the movie even once…..!!!!!

Maybe Warner Bros are dumb? Surely they should have done some research to find out the good directors? I can understand why they picked Akshay, as he is a box office wonder, but Nikhil Advani? Puzzeling! – Nita.
I’ve honestly never liked Akshay as an actor. Very overrated and I get quite put off seeing him as one of the “big” names in Bollywood. Always found the other Akshay (Khanna) far superior!
I Didn’t like Singh Is Kinng (was dragged along to see that one!) and judging from the trailers of CCTC, I probably won’t like this either.
Deepika seems like she has a good future in the industry. I think her, Asin and maybe Freida Pinto (if she is wanting to do Hindi movies) are ones to look out for. So many young actresses are touted as future superstars but only a select few ever make it. For example Kim Sharma, Shamita Shetty and Preeti Jhangiani all debuted in Mohabbatein…after that none managed a follow-up hit.
I like your choice of the three female actors. I too think they have potential. And as for Singh is Kingg it was better than CC2C. If you take it only as pure entertainment value then Singh is Kingg on a scale of 1 to 10 would be about 4 but CC2C would be half or zero!! -Nita

Thank god that it might flop. I was worried that we are sending wrong signals to Bollywood and they might end up making such movies for the next five years. 🙂
haha! Yeah, that thought was depressing you wasn’t it! Well, I think if this movie flops it will be best thing to happen. The audience is not an idiot. Only directors and actors are! I think the damage was done when the intensity of the movie was diluted by humor.
I hate this bad movie. Review was certianly right, take out the fight and the movie is nothing. The other thing is that this movie is cheating the whole world. It says that Buddha was born in India when he was born in Nepal. This may lead us in trouble because Nepali people may think that we are bad if not, worse. I came to think of this idea because Nepal has already banned this movie.
